Assignment MM5
Numero uno:
Strengths of the genre: It's enlightening sometimes. It's usually not a dense peice of text and there usually isn't like, "hidden meaning".
Weaknesses: sometimes people choose to talk about something really boring and dont manage to make it interesting. For example, Jury Duty.
I actually like writing fiction better because I'm not confined to what has actually happened to me. I usually make up stuff that while somewhat realistic had never actually happend to me, because lets face it, not that much happens to me. And often, something that might be special to someone else is kinda commonplace for me so I would write about it differantly or not at all.

Reading gives us more ideas and feeds our vocabulary. There is not really much more to say besides that. I don’t like this question, why do we need to do so many words for a question so easily answered. I’ll try I guess.
Reading can inspire us, it can teach us, and it can move us to emotion. Reading something in a book can change your life just like going to hear someone speak. Sometimes more so because you can read it again and again. Reading is also very special because when you are super stressed out, a book can take you some where else- somewhere where life is better, or people are fighting to make it better- anywhere but real life.

Favorite piece might be the first short story I wrote, about the roses. But I think I got the best stuff out of the poetry unit, Untitled, Untitled 2, The Dagger Blue, sighs, and Blank Paper Calls to Me. So poetry’s my favorite genre I guess, it kind of takes a lot less effort. Red Roses for her might be my favorite because it’s more serious than some of my other prose but it turned out really well and a lot of my friends liked it too. Greatest challenge was probably the play, I went through like three idea’s before finally settling on my final one. I didn’t really care for my play, it was kinda boring and cheesy and it wasn’t very well written because it was so early in the morning when I wrote it. I will use like everything for like APAL assignments this year, and next year I dunno how I’ll use it in school but I do plan to keep writing stuff. especially poetry, I like writing poetry. :)

Only one guiding principal? I guess I would have to say, don’t compromise your values. As far as shaping my life, it why I haven’t dated yet, its why I don’t do everything my friends do, it’s why I’ve only seen one R rated movie, its why I am so involved in my church and my youth group, it’s why I don’t listen to music where there is a ton of swearing or is inappropriate, it’s why I try not to swear, it’s why I don’t diss my parents, and its why my friends trust me. It’s important to me because it’s who I am and what I know is right. I don’t try to impose my views on other people, a lot of my friends don’t have the same values as me and I don’t love them any less. But in order to remain me, I must not compromise what I know is true and right.
The only thing I can think of is the bridge collapse. But that didn’t really change the way I viewed the world, it only affected me because I freaked out and called like every one I knew trying to make sure they were ok. I guess it also made me see that we don’t know when it could end and we should be prepared. that was only 64 words so I need a few more. Am I there yet? Yup!
In 2008 I want to accomplish…better grades, better life, better relationship with this one friend who I have kind of neglected, I don’t really have any huge aspirations or resolutions. I want to have a good year. what will that consist of? I don’t know. I can’t wait to find out. Since this needs to be 100 words and I don’t actually have to stay on topic if I have nothing left to say, I want to say that my dog is the best in the whole world. No contest. Since that is still only 90 words, I am adding this sentence. Now I am at… 106. Go me!
